Is there anything more comforting than the smell
of bread or cake baking in the oven?

IRISH SODA BREAD

450g Strong while flour
1 tsp Bread Soda
1 tsp Salt
450ml Buttermilk

Sieve flour, salt and bread soda together. Wet
flour with buttermilk. Depending on the heat
of the flour it may not take all of the milk
so add gradually. Turn bread on to floured
board and knead into shape. Place on a baking
sheet, put an X on top and bake at 200 degrees
for 45 mimutes approx.

OUR DRUG CALLED HURLING

Hurling could be called a drug
It goes to every vein
And often leaves you sore at night
Next day you are in pain

Without the few real dirtbirds playing
It's a brilliant game to play
And every training in the field
Is unique in its own way

With Tom Lalor making that special chat
A lie or two, then let you on back
He is our legend and I owe him a lot
Even if he took me off and I haven't forgot...
